This is an arrangement of Jeff Lorber's funk classic... from one of his jazz fusion albums from the late 70's. He began introducing a large degree of chromaticism to his use of modes which, as evident in his improvisation on "My Favorite Things," expands the material by introducing foreign tones at exposed points in his musical phrasings (see Figure 3 below).
